Gen II Fund Services, a leading global fund administration provider serving private capital asset managers and investors, has been using Caseware for more than seven years. In 2025, the Luxembourg team took the next step by migrating from the desktop version to Caseware Lux FinTax Cloud Solution, aiming to simplify financial statement preparation, reduce manual work and improve collaboration.
From manual processes to a more efficient workflow
For Ashokkumar Chelladurai, Senior Officer – Real Estate & Private Equity Funds at Gen II Fund Services, the transition to cloud technology brought significant improvements.
With more than 500 clients and complex fund structures, Gen II needed a solution that could accommodate different reporting requirements while maintaining consistency across entities.
Working closely with the Caseware team, Gen II customised its fund templates and charts of accounts to meet client-specific requirements. These templates can now be reused across multiple entities, reducing repetitive work.
One of the biggest improvements has been the integration of financial statement preparation and eCDF filing. Previously, Gen II relied on separate software for eCDF filings, creating duplicated work and additional rounds of client communication.
With Lux FinTax cloud solution, the team can now generate both financial statements and eCDF reporting formats, obtain client approval and export the final XML file directly for submission to the eCDF platform.

Better visibility, collaboration and scalability
The integrated workflow and FinTax Monitoring functionality give Gen II greater visibility into the status of financial statements, from preparation and review to finalisation and handover to the tax team.
The transition also simplifies recurring annual work through roll-forward functionality, helping colleagues move away from manual processes in Excel and Word.
Following the successful implementation in Luxembourg, Gen II has demonstrated the solution to colleagues in other offices and is exploring opportunities to extend its use to additional jurisdictions, including the UK and US.

Ashokkumar also highlighted the value of Caseware's technical support, particularly in adapting templates to complex fund structures, as well as the Caseware Academy training resources.
